
DAY 2: What is Regeneration?

As the keystone of the LOKAL Re:Generative Week, Day 2 explores the concept of regeneration and the regenerative mindset as a catalyst for systems transformation. Participants will journey through theory and empirical research to understand how regenerative thinking shows up in real-world practice - from tourism and community development to systems-based decision-making. Hosted by CMMU, with contributions from SMAC Network, this morning offers the space to question, reflect, connect, and activate a new perspective that focuses on restoration, renewal, and regeneration.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suparak Suriyankietkaew is Assistant Dean at CMMU and a globally recognized scholar in sustainable leadership, ranked among the Top 5 worldwide in the field. With double Ph.D.s in Management from Macquarie and Mahidol Universities, she combines world-class research with more than 18 years of consulting and leadership development experience.
Dr. Piya Kerdlap is a sustainability scientist and international development professional with 10 years of experience in life cycle assessment, economic assessments, and the circular economy in Southeast Asia. He is founder and managing director of PXP Sustainability, a consulting firm helping organizations design strategies to achieve sustainability goals, and co-founder of the Sustainability Meet & Chill network in Bangkok.
Rosalind Yunibandhu is a Ph.D. scholar at CMMU, co-founder of LOKAL Re:Generative, and a core organizer of Bangkok Climate Action Week. Formerly co-founder of PwC Thailand’s Sustainability & Climate Change practice, she now researches regeneration and regenerative mindset development, with a recent publication in the #1 journal in Development Studies, Sustainable Development.
Dr. Krittawit Krittayaruangroj is a sustainability practitioner and community development leader specializing in sustainable leadership, community-based tourism, and social entrepreneurship. He is CEO of Akelada Hotel & Convention, founder of Safety Agri Buriram, and a certified coach, drawing on 20 years of senior leadership experience at global firms including Samsung, Dell, Microsoft, and Apple.
Dr. Sukanda Thinthan is a researcher and practitioner in sustainable design, creative tourism, and community-based innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in Culture-Based Design Arts from Silpakorn University and serves as COO of Peakchan Co., Ltd., leading award-winning cultural and design projects showcased at Milan Design Week, Maison&Objet Paris, and leading Thai platforms
